In this study we will explore God s love as evidenced in the stories of creation the patriarchs, the judges and prophets, Jesus and the early church. Together we will dive into a great love story and discover that is our story! The Englewood United Methodist Men s Group (EUMM) is having social meetings every Monday in Fellowship Hall. We gather together at 8am to enjoy devotion, fellowship and Guy Talk. Holy Communion Today we celebrate Holy Communion at all services. The Bread and the Cup vividly remind us of God s love for us through Christ s death on the cross. As United Methodists we have Open Communion, meaning that all here are invited to come to celebrate God s grace. Congregational Care Ministers can pick up their communion kits in the church office today or during office hours this week. UMW Readers Program Update Just a little note to let you know the Readers Program deadline is August 10 th. You still have time to finish Plan I while reading 5 books and a RESPONSE Magazine. NEW tennis shoes (sneakers) are needed for the many needy children in the area. The project helps to ensure that ALL school age children begin the school year with a new pair of NEW shoes. The program is supported in the area by many churches and organizations. Donations are needed by July 24 th. Drop boxes are located in the office, sanctuary entries & fellowship hall. If you prefer not to shop a monetary donation is always accepted. Make the check payable to EUMC, in the memo line note: Shoes for Kids. The mission of the Englewood Community Care Clinic is to provide free medical services to uninsured and working poor in the greater Englewood area. The clinic is located in the Mac Horton West County Annex, 6868 San Casa Drive in Englewood. We serve residents of both Charlotte and Sarasota counties, ages 1864, who do not have health insurance, Medicaid or Medicare. The clinic is open on Monday and Thursday evenings at 5pm for inperson patient visits. Weekly telehealth visits are also available for patients who prefer to not come to the clinic. Over 50 physicians, nurses and clerical volunteers are involved in serving patients at the clinic (many are EUMC members!). NEW Serving Opportunities We are asking you to prayerfully consider helping in one of these ministries. Hospitality Committee People with the gift of hospitality are needed to help set up, serve and clean up for memorial services & church receptions. Times and dates will vary. Adult Bible Study Facilitators are needed for short term coed studies or one day courses. Curriculum and guidance provided. Disaster Response Team is being reformed. This ministry will travel to places hit by natural disaster to aid in rebuilding. Training will be provided. Women s Evening Bible Study Group facilitators need for Women s Monday Night short term Bible studies. Sunday Welcome Table A couple of people are needed to be at the Welcome Table in Fellowship Hall after the 9:30 service (10:3011:00) and the 11:00 service (12:0012:30) to help people sign up for events or classes, sell books, and answer questions. Congregational Care Ministry more people are needed for visitation to Assisted Living, Nursing Homes and homebound congregants. Jesus & Coffee We need people to join this fun, Sunday morning team after the 11:00 service. Duties include making coffee and cold drinks to order and clean up.
