6 Rummage Sale Opportunities We are looking for a Chair and CoChair for the Books Department. Must be able to sort books year round. Volunteers to maintain our volunteer database through the year. Must be detail orientated and have knowledge of MS Excel. If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, please call Annette Noren at New Members Class The two session new members class will be held April 29th and May 6th for those interested in joining the church. Class begins at 6:00pm and lets out by 8:00pm. New members will join on May 9th during the service you attend. These classes are a great way for Pastor Vic and you to get to know each other and to learn about the history of EUMC. Included in the classes: a discussion of the membership vows, a tour of the facilities, a brief look at Methodism and information on ministries and programs. If you are interested in joining the EUMC family, please call the church office at and let Jan know you re planning to attend the classes. The classes meet in Fellowship Hall 1 & 2. Let us know if you need childcare. CONGREGATIONAL CARE Visitation & Communion: Would you like someone to visit you, or a family member or friend, either at home or in a facility? 7 Englewood Community Care Clinic is OPEN! The mission of the Englewood Community Care Clinic is to provide free medical services to the uninsured and working poor in the greater Englewood area. The clinic is located in the Mac Horton West County Annex, 6868 San Casa Drive in Englewood. We serve residents of both Charlotte and Sarasota counties, ages 1864, who do not have health insurance, Medicaid or Medicare. The clinic is open on Monday and Thursday evenings at 5pm for inperson patient visits. Weekly telehealth visits are also available for patients who prefer to not come to the clinic. Over 50 physicians, nurses and clerical volunteers are involved in serving patients at the clinic (many are EUMC members!) and we would appreciate your spreading the word about our work to those in our community who need help. Craft Workshop The craft workshop is looking for sewing machines, do you have one taking up space in your home that you would like to donate? 8 40 Days through the Bible The Answers to Your Deepest Longings by Lysa TerKeurst April 20June 15, 9 weeks / 6:30pm Wednesdays / Room 100 Cost of book: $ 9.00 Facilitated by Joyce Doyle Take a journey through the storyline of the Bible revealing major themes, connections and applications to your daily life today. Discover 8 major longings of the human heart and how Jesus fills all of them. This is an 8 week course with an introductory first class (9 total). There are five days of homework each week. If you are fairly new to Bible study, this is a good place to start. Please register through the church website, between services on Sunday in Fellowship Hall or by calling the church office. The Englewood United Methodist Men s Group (EUMM) is having social meetings every Monday in Fellowship Hall. We gather together at 8am to enjoy devotion, fellowship and Guy Talk. Breakfast is available for $5.00. All EUMM members and prospective members are welcome. Rummage Sale Dropoff Announces Limited Opening With the 2022 Rummage Sale behind us, it is time to start collecting for our 2023 sale. The Dropoff Shed will officially be open on March 21st. At this time we cannot accept furniture until our new storage building receives the occupancy clearance. We thank you for your donations. 9 Serving Opportunities We are asking you to prayerfully consider helping in one of these ministries. Friends Class One or two people to restart the Friends Class which is an 11:00 Sunday school class for adults with special needs. Curriculum is provided. Sunday Tech Booth Help is needed at all three services to do one of the following: run cameras, learn how to do the audio or run the slides. Slide operator for 9:30 service attending Praise Team practices on Wednesday evenings would be very helpful. Disaster Response Team is being reformed. This ministry will travel to places hit by natural disaster to aid in rebuilding. Sunday Welcome Team coordinator Someone to schedule the greeters/ushers (Welcome Team) for each service on Sundays. Congregational Care Ministry more people are needed for visitation to Assisted Living, Nursing Homes and homebound congregants. Jesus & Coffee after 11:00 service Two people are needed to join this Sunday morning team. Duties include making coffee and cold drinks to order and then cleanup. Englewood Helping Hand Volunteers are needed to support local families and individuals in need. Primary duties are sorting and handing out food and household supplies. Current days of operation are Wednesday and Thursday, but they may expand to Monday Thursday once they move into their new building this summer.
